| Dr. Ghanizadeh is a graduate of Vassar College, Columbia University School of Public Health and University of Rochester School of Medicine. She is Board Certified in Adult and Forensic Psychiatry, and is Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Ghanizadeh has broad experience teaching Dialectical Behavior Therapy using standard and forensic models to both clinical and security staff. She has provided psychiatric services in a variety of hospital and correctional settings, most recently, at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility (a maximum security prison for women), where she was Clinical Director and on-site supervisor for Columbia/Cornell Forensic Psychiatry Fellows. Her major correctional interest revolves around promoting effective and humane mental health treatment to inmates with trauma, violence and self-abuse. Her private practice in Ridgefield, CT includes adult and adolescent DBT, general adult psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, consultation and forensic evaluation. |
